Longwood 87, Kennesaw State 85 OT

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Clayton Morgan had a career-high 32 points including a basket at the end of regulation to force overtime, lifting Longwood to an 87-85 victory over Kennesaw State Saturday at the Las Vegas Classic.

Longwood's Brandon Giles scored 10 of his 12 points in overtime as the Lancers started the extra period with a 9-4 run.

Longwood (5-10) never trailed again, but Kennesaw's Ronell Wooten, who had 25 points and eight rebounds, missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer from the left side as time expired.

Kirk Williams had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lancers, Maurice Sumter added 13 points and Husein Pistoljevic scored 12.

Morgan, a senior, was 13-for-19 from the field, 5-for-5 from the free-throw line, and had nine rebounds.

Shaun Stegall had 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Owls (2-9), and Golden Ingle had 16 points and five assists. Brent Ragsdale added 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field for Kennesaw.

The Lancers trailed 72-68 with 10 seconds left when Williams hit a 3-pointer.

Kennesaw's Keonte Keith made one of two free throws a second later, but Morgan made a running 10-foot jumper on the left side forcing overtime as time expired.

The game was for fifth place in the eight-team, four-game tournament. Longwood finished 2-2, Kennesaw State 1-3.
