Tulane 75, Richmond 63

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Daniel Puckett scored five of his
career-high 12 points during a 7-0 spurt late in the game as Tulane
held off Richmond 75-63 Thursday night.

The Green Wave (7-4) led 45-26 with 17:11 left following layup
by Puckett. The Spiders gradually rallied, pulling to 55-51 on Drew
Crank's layup with 5:08 remaining.

Richmond (4-7) trailed 60-56 following a pair of free throws by
Peter Thomas with 2:43 left.

Tulane ran off the next seven points, leading 67-56 with 1:10
remaining, and from there Richmond could get no closer than eight.

Tulane hit 14 of 22 shots en route to a 40-24 lead.

In addition to Puckett, the Green Wave was led by Robinson
Louisme and David Gomez with 13 points. Kevin Sims had 10 points.
Richmond lost its fourth straight overall and fifth straight at

Brian Morris led the Spiders with 12 points while Thomas and
David Gonzalvez added 10 each.
