PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Herb Courtney scored 22 points and Sam McMahon scored 13 of his career-high 20 points in the second half as Delaware snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 71-53 victory over Niagara in the La Salle Invitational on Thursday.

Brian Johnson also had 12 points and nine assists for the Blue Hens (1-9), who entered the game as one of only two winless teams among 336 Division I programs. Iona (0-10) is the last remaining team without a victory this season.

Delaware shot 52 percent from the field and hit 11 of 19 3-pointers.

McMahon, who shot 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-6 from 3-point territory, helped seal the win late in the game with back-to-back 3-pointers, extending Delaware's lead to 63-45 with 5:05 left.

Clif Brown scored nine points for Niagara (4-7), which had its three-game winning streak halted.

Delaware closed the first half on a 13-1 run to turn a 24-20 deficit into a 33-25 advantage at halftime.
