Marist 67, Northern Illinois 63

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) -- Jared Jordan had 18 points to lead Marist in a 67-63 win over Northern Illinois Friday in the second game of the Pepsi Marist Classic.

Will Whittington contributed 15 points for Marist (9-3), while James Smith had 10 rebounds.

Ryan Paradise had 23 points to lead Northern Illinois (3-8). Mike McKinney added 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Huskies.

Northern Illinois jumped out to a quick 12-4 lead on a jumper by Ben Rand.

Marist responded with a 15-5 run to take a 19-17 lead on a 3-pointer by Whittington.

Paradise hit a layup with 40 seconds left in the first half to give the Huskies a 32-31 lead at the break.

The teams traded the lead early in the second, until McKinney tied the game at 36-all with a layup at 18:38. Marist went on to take the lead for good.

Central Arkansas will face Marist in the title game on Saturday. Northern Illinois will square off with Bucknell in the consolation game.
