William & Mary 61, Richmond 53

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Adam Payton scored 13 points and Alex
Smith added 12 to lead William & Mary to a 61-53 win over Richmond
on Sunday.

A 3-pointer by Kyle Carrabine put the Tribe in the lead for good
with 12:01 left in the first half. The Spiders trailed by 14 at the
half, and got no closer than seven points the rest of the way.

Laimis Kisielius added 11 for William & Mary (7-4).

Brian Morris scored 13 points and Drew Crank had 11 for Richmond

William & Mary outshot Richmond 47.6 percent to 36.8, and
outrebounded the Spiders 40-26.

This is the fourth straight win for the Tribe, which is off to
its best start since 1997-98. The Spiders have now lost eight of
their past nine games.
