Jackson St. 81, Alabama St. 68

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- With 38 points and 10 rebounds, Trey Johnson led Jackson State to an 81-68 victory over Alabama State Tuesday night.

The Hornets (2-9, 0-0 SWAC) led the Tigers 37-31 at the half, but Jackson State (6-7, 0-0 SWAC) came back in the second half, shooting 58.3 percent from the floor, to secure the win.

Jeremy Caldwell and Grant Maxey chipped in to help the Tigers with 14 points and 12 points respectively.

The Hornets had four players score in the double figures. Dustin Richmond had 12, Andrew Hayles had 11 and Richard Lott and Tahrea Jackson had 10 points each.
