WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) -- Keith Simmons scored 18 points to propel Holy Cross to a 66-42 victory over Army in Patriot League play on Tuesday night.

Fourteen of Simmons' points came in a decisive 28-6 run in the first half.

Jarell Brown scored 10 points to pace Army (10-7, 0-2). However, Brown was held well below his league-leading scoring average of 18.2 point per game.

There were five ties and 14 lead changes in the first half, when Brown and Kenny Brewer (6 points) combined for 14 points. Simmons, second in league scoring with 17.8 points per game, had a 3-point goal, a free throw and an assist to Tim Clifford for a slam dunk that gave the Crusaders a 27-23 halftime lead.

Holy Cross (11-6, 2-0) extended its run in the second half behind Simmons and Torey Thomas (16 points). Matt Bell of Army scored seven straight points, including a 3-pointer, but Pat Dohrerty and Simmons scored to give the Crusaders an insurmountable 52-34 lead with 8:47 left.
