DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Jahsha Bluntt had 18 points, six rebounds and blocked two shots to lead Delaware State to a 66-57 win against Howard on Saturday.
Delaware State (7-9, 4-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) had four players score in double digits.
Troy Roundtree and
Roy Bright scored 12 points each.
Darrin Shine scored 10 points.
Howard (6-11, 2-3) was led by
Will Gant, who scored 16 points.
Darryl Hudson scored 13.
Jason Trotter led Howard in rebounds with 10.
Howard struggled at the free-throw line, making only 6-of-15. Delaware State fared much better at free throws, making 13-of-17.
Bluntt went 6-of-9 in field goals and 1-of-3 in 3-point shots. He was 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.
Delaware State lead at halftime 40-31.
Delaware State opened up a 46-35 lead on a Roundtree lay up with 15:35 left to play. Howard answered with a 14-6 run, and pulled to within 52-49 after a 3-point shot by Darek Mitchell with 7:50 remaining. Delaware State led 56-52 before pulling away for good.
The win was the Hornets eighth win in a row against the Bison.
