RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -- Julian Mascoll scored on a driving layup with four seconds left to send Eastern Kentucky to a 63-62 win Saturday over Eastern Illinois.
The Colonels (10-6, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference) trailed 62-59 with 23 seconds left, but the Panthers missed the front-end of a bonus with 13 seconds left and a shot by Ousmane Cisse rimmed out at the buzzer.
Adam Leonard led the Colonels with 22 points, 14 of those coming in the second half. Leonard hit six of his team's nine 3-pointers.
Leonard hit three consecutive 3-pointers to open Eastern's scoring in the second half. Leonard scored nine points during an 18-6 run that turned a 32-23 deficit into a 41-38 lead with 13 minutes left.
Mike Rose followed with 15 points and Mascoll chipped in 11.
Eastern Illinois (5-14, 1-9 OVC), which led by 12 in the opening half, knocked down six 3-pointers in the first stanza and held a 32-20 lead with 50 seconds left in the half.
Both teams fought through 17 lead changes, including 13 in the second half, and three ties.
