HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) -- DeMario Anderson scored 14 points to lead Quinnipiac to a 71-51 Northeast Conference win over Monmouth Saturday.

Adam Gonzalez added 12 points while Van Crafton had 11 for the Bobcats.

It was the third straight win for Quinnipiac (5-10, 3-3 NEC) since ending a nine-game losing streak Jan. 6 at St. Francis, Pa.

Dejan Delic scored a game-high 15 points for Monmouth (7-10, 2-3).

The Hawks, who won the NEC tournament championship last season, had won the previous five meetings against Quinnipiac.

Quinnipiac led by as many as 22 points early in the second half but Monmouth went on a 13-3 run, capped by a Delic 3-pointer, to cut the deficit to 60-48 with 3:17 remaining.

The Bobcats regained their composure and made 4-of-6 free throws in the final minutes to seal the win.
