HOUSTON (AP) -- Trey Johnson scored 25 points to help Jackson
State to a 73-62 win over Texas Southern on Saturday night.
Johnson hit all seven of his free throws and Julius Young, who
finished with 14 points, hit all six of his free throws to lead
Jackson State (10-8, 4-1 Southwestern Athletic). Garrison Johnson
came off the bench to score 12 points and Catraiva Givens added 10
points and seven assists.
Texas Southern (7-8, 3-1) had eight more rebounds than Jackson
State, but couldn't overcome 11 percent shooting from 3-point range
and 25 turnovers. Chris Moore recorded a double-double with 17
points and 13 rebounds. Jacques Jones scored a team-high 25 points
and Courtenay Brown added 10.
Brown had three blocks and Dominique White added six assists.
