JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Arturo Dubois scored 27 points and pulled down 14 rebounds -- both game highs -- as Manhattan beat St. Peter's 71-66 on Monday.
Antoine Pearson added 14 points and Darryl Crawford finished with 10 for the Jaspers (8-8, 5-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who won their fifth straight game. Raul Orta led St. Peter's (3-14, 1-6) with 16 points, while Akeem Gooding added 12 points and Kevin Spann and Todd Sowell both finished with 11.
The teams traded baskets for most of the first half, but Manhattan seemed to take command after the break, using an early 10-2 run to take a 45-31 lead. The Peacocks -- who lost their ninth straight game -- tried to rally late and eventually cut the lead to 64-61, but could not get any closer as the Jaspers hit several free throws in the closing minutes to seal the win.
Manhattan also took advantage of some sloppy play by St. Peter's, scoring 32 points off of the Peacocks 21 turnovers.
