Massachusetts, 101, Duquesne 87

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) -- James Life nailed 24 points and Gary Forbes piled 19 to lift Massachusetts to a 101-87 win over Duquesne in an Atlantic-10 Conference action Sunday.

Stephane Lasme and Chris Lowe had 14 points apiece and Ricky Harris scored 13 to give UMass (14-5, 4-1 Atlantic-10) the first century scoring mark at home in 14 years.

Reggie Jackson and Robert Mitchell scored 22 points each and Kieron Achara had 17 for the Dukes (5-11, 1-4 A-10), who trailed 43-41 at halftime.

UMass' depth was displayed in the second half, with 10 different players scoring.

The Dukes had pulled within three, 61-68, with 10:48 to play on a Achara lay-up. UMass then outscored Duquesne 40-29 from that point forward to crack the 100-point mark.

UMass shot 47 percent for the game, hitting 35-of-74 shots from the floor. Duquesne hit 32-of-76 from the floor, or 42 percent.
