Loyola, Md. 78, Rider 73

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) -- Gerald Brown scored a game-high 31 points and made five free throws in the final 90 seconds to seal Loyola of Maryland's 78-73 win over Rider on Sunday.

Michael Tuck and Marquis Sullivan both added 14 points for the Greyhounds (11-7, 7-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who led most of the game but had trouble putting away the Broncs (10-9, 4-5) until they went on a 12-2 run -- including seven points by Brown -- late in the second half.

Rider fought back, hitting three 3-pointers and cutting the lead to 75-73 with 33 seconds left, but they couldn't get another score and Loyola made 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch.

Jason Thompson had 21 points and 13 rebounds for Rider, while Lamar Johnson finished with 20 points -- including six 3-pointers -- and Harris Mansell scored 15.
