NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) -- Tristan Blackwood scored 29 of his 32 points after halftime as Central Connecticut rallied from 19 points down to earn a 103-96 overtime victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday.
The win gave the Blue Devils (11-10, 8-1 Northeast Conference) sole possession of first place in the conference.
The teams traded 3-pointers to start overtime, but Drew Shubik's triple put the Pioneers up 93-90. Central eventually rallied to tie it at 95-95 on a Blackwood three with 2:27 left.
Jemino Sobers' free throw put Central up by one with 1:49 to go, and Blackwood hit a huge 3-pointer from the left corner to make it 99-95 with 40 seconds to go. Central made its free throws down the stretch to finish the job.
Sacred Heart (10-9, 6-2) was led by Jarrid Frye's 19 points, 17 of which came after halftime.
The Pioneers built a 53-34 lead in the second half before Central rallied.
Central took its first lead of the game, 86-85, when Blackwood laid one in with 54.5 seconds left in regulation.
Joey Hanley's floater put Sacred Heart back up by one with 36.2 seconds left, but Mojica forced overtime by making one of two free throws with 3.8 seconds left.
