LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) -- John Ford scored 12 points in the final five minutes to lead McNeese State to a 68-60 win Sunday over Lamar.
Ford, a point guard, had scored only three points in the first half, but hit on a pair of 3-point shots and made six free throws late in the game. He led all scorers with 18 points.
McNeese (8-12, 3-3 Southland Conference) trailed Lamar 27-24 at halftime and fell behind by 13 points with 10:14 left. But two straight goals from Quentin Gonzales began the comeback and a 15-2 run by the Cowboys tied the score 52-52 with 5:21 left.
Jarvis Bradely scored 15 points for McNeese, while Gonzales added 12.
