BOSTON (AP) -- Frank Elegar scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Drexel to a 68-59 win over Northeastern on Monday night.
It was a game of runs as Drexel (16-5, 8-3 Colonial Athletic Association) went on a 25-5 streak in the second half to overcome the 17-point lead Northeastern had built in the opening half.
The Huskies (7-15, 5-6 CAA) went on a 21-3 run in the first half and opened up a 25-8 lead, but the Dragons cut the lead to 33-26 at the half. After Northeastern scored the first six points of the second half, Drexel went on its game-winning run.
Elegar put the Dragons ahead for good on a jump hook with 10:08 remaining. It was Drexel's first lead since another Elegar basket gave the Dragons a 5-4 lead with 16:05 left in the first half.
For Northeastern, Matt Janning led the way with a game-high 18 points. He scored 10 during the team's first-half run, including eight consecutive points in a 56-second span. Bennet Davis added 14 points and seven rebounds while Adrian Martinez had 11 points.
