MVSU's Ronald Alexander was fouled on the ensuing possession and nailed two free throws to put them ahead by two, 71-69, with less than a minute left. With 34 seconds remaining, Ratliff once again tied the game and Martez Stevens blocked Speech's potential game-winning lay-up to send it into overtime.
