NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Dwayne Jackson scored 29 points and had nine rebounds to lead Charleston Southern to a 89-61 win over Covenant on Thursday night.
Jackson hit a jumper 13 seconds into the game to start a 10-3 run for the Buccaneers (7-16).
The Scots (7-13) never led, and trailed by at least 10 points for the final 30 minutes.
Charleston Southern shot 53.7 percent (36-of-67) from the field and made 8-of-20 3-pointers, while Covenant shot 38.1 percent (24-of-63) from the field and made just six of its 32 3-point attempts.
The Buccaneers led by 26 at halftime and by as many as 39 points in the second half.
Freshman Marquise Duvall scored a career-high 15 points and Donnell Covington added 12 points and 10 assists for Charleston Southern.
Brothers Caleb and Jacob Skogen each scored 23 points to lead the Scots.
