Montana 85, E. Washington 78

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Jordan Hasquet scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Saturday night to lead Montana past Eastern Washington 85-78.

Matt Dlouhy and Stuart Mayes combined to hold EWU sophomore Rodney Stuckey to 19 points -- five below his average.

Montana (12-11, 6-4 Big Sky) made eight of its first nine shots and built a 21-11 lead. But the Grizzlies were just 4-of-20 for the rest of the half and the Eagles (11-13, 5-7) took a 42-41 halftime lead.

The game remained close -- there were 13 ties and 17 lead changes -- before the Griz put together a 9-0 run to take a 75-64 lead with 6:46 to play. Andrew Strait scored four of his 14 points during the run that was capped by a 3-pointer from Matt Martin.

Eastern pulled to 80-78 on a pair of free throws by Stuckey with 2:40 to play, but could get no closer. Montana made 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Dlouhy added 14 points, seven assists and seven rebounds for Montana while Mayes finished with 11 points.

Paul Butorac added 14 points and Omar Krayem added 10.
