LORMAN, Miss. (AP) -- Juan Wyatt scored 34 points to lead Alcorn State to an 88-80 win over in-state rival Jackson State on Saturday.

The Braves (8-13, 7-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 44-41 at halftime.

Trey Johnson, the nation's leading scorer, put 25 points on the board for Jackson State, but it wasn't enough to help the Tigers (13-10, 7-3) pull out a win.

Jackson State won the team's first meeting earlier in the season 86-70.
