HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) -- Victor Akinyanju scored 20 points and had a career-high 21 rebounds to lead Quinnipiac to a 70-62 Northeast Conference win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
DeMario Anderson added 18 points while
Adam Gonzalez had 14 points and eight rebounds for the Bobcats (10-11, 8-4), who used a 26-0 run late in the first half into the second half to erase a 31-15 deficit.
Quinnipiac has won eight of its last nine games after losing nine straight games, including all six in December.
Chris Vann had 18 points and
Will Holland had 13 for Mount St. Mary's (8-15, 7-5).
Quinnipiac made just three of its first 17 shots and trailed 25-8, but closed the half on a 23-6 run to tie the score at 31.
Mount St. Mary's didn't score in the final five minutes as the Bobcats finished on a 16-0 run. The run continued in the second half as Quinnipiac scored the first 10 points, starting with a three-pointer by Gonzalez for the Bobcats' first lead of the game at 34-31.
In all, Quinnipiac scored 26 straight points over a 9:53 span in the two halves.
