E. Kentucky 64, Murray St. 62

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -- Mike Rose went 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in the final 18 seconds as Eastern Kentucky beat Murray State 64-62 Thursday night.

Murray (12-12, 10-6 Ohio Valley Conference) scored with four seconds to go on a layup by Ed Horton to pull to 64-62, and the Racers got the ball back a second later when Eastern (14-9, 9-6) threw the ball out of bounds on the inbounds pass. But Tyler Holloway missed a 3-point attempt with a second left to snap Murray's four-game winning streak.

Adam Leonard led Eastern (14-9, 9-6) with 12 points, all on 3-pointers. Julian Mascoll had 11, and Darnell Dialls added 10.

Bruce Carter scored 19 points for Murray, and Shawn Witherspoon added 14, scoring his 1,000th point as a Racer in the process.

Eastern jumped out to an early 12-8 lead, but Murray recovered to dominate most of the remainder of the first half, shooting 15-of-30 (50 percent) from the field to Eastern's 7-of-23 (30.4 percent) to take a 35-25 lead into halftime.
