STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) -- Frank Robinson scored 19 points to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 82-77 victory over Pacific Thursday night.
Pacific cut an 11-point Fullerton lead to 65-61 with 9:13 remaining to play, but the Titans immediately answered with a 3-pointer from Crenshaw and an inside basket by Cutley, and never saw their lead slip below five points the rest of the way.
The lead changed hands on five consecutive possessions midway through the first half as White scored on the inside and Fullerton's 3-point shooters connected from the outside.
The game was tied for the only time at 38 on HorseChief's 3-point play with 2:41 remaining before halftime, but Brown and Crenshaw made 3-pointers and the Titans ended the half on a 8-1 run to take a 46-39 lead at the break.
The Titans scored the first four points of the second half to take their biggest lead, then held off Pacific's challenge 10 minutes later.
The Tigers' comeback attempt was thwarted by poor free-throw shooting as Pacific made just 19 of 33 free throws, missing 10 in the second half.
