EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Derek Coleman scored 23 points, including 21 in the second half, to lead Robert Morris past Mount St. Mary's 65-60 on Saturday.
Despite shooting 35.8 percent for the game and only 26 percent in the second half, the Mount led for much of the game. They led 32-25 at halftime and built a 41-27 lead with 15:40 remaining.
That's when Coleman began to dominate. He scored eight points on a 14-2 Colonials run that cut the deficit to two. Robert Morris shot 57 percent in the second half.
The Mount widened the lead a bit, making it 56-52 with four minutes remaining. But Coleman wasn't done, hitting a 3-pointer that capped an eight-point run to give the Colonials a 60-56 lead.
With 1:14 left, the Mountaineers were down by two and they forced a turnover. But Beidler missed a jumper with 17 seconds to go.
On the next play, Coleman was fouled and made two free throws to seal the victory.
