LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) -- Reggie Williams scored 21 points and set a Big South Conference single-season scoring record as VMI topped North Carolina-Asheville 102-88 on Saturday.

Matt Murrer led the Keydets with 25 points and nine rebounds as Williams scored below his 28.6 scoring average but was still good enough to leave him with the conference season mark of 764 points.

VMI (12-15, 5-6) fell behind to the Bulldogs (8-17, 3-7) at the 8:46 mark, 40-26, but stormed back to take the lead at the half, 52-46.

N.C.-Asheville battled back from a double-digit deficit in the second half to close the game to 83-81 with 7:52 remaining, but Williams, Murrer and Travis Holmes led VMI to final margin.

Holmes added 20 points for the Keydets and Fred Robinson had 16.

Bryan Smithson led N.C.-Asheville with 23 points, K.J. Garland added 21, Vincent James had 12 and Reid Augst had 10.
