NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Valdas Vasylius had 31 points and 12 rebounds to lead Old Dominion to a 96-82 win over Hofstra on Tuesday night.
The Monarchs (20-7, 13-3 Colonial Athletic Association) led 45-40 at halftime, but Hofstra (19-8, 12-4) brought it to within 59-57 with 11:12 remaining in the game.
Old Dominion was able to stretch its lead to 83-68 lead with 3:50 to play and the Pride could only get as close as 88-79 in the closing minutes.
Brian Henderson added 14 points for the Monarchs, and
Abdi Lidonde and
Gerald Lee each had 13.
Carlos Rivera led Hofstra with 26 points,
Loren Stokes added 21 and
Antoine Agudio had 20.
