YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -- Quin Humphrey scored 36 points and Youngstown State rallied in the final minutes to beat Detroit 82-70 on Wednesday night.
Humphrey was 12-of-18 shooting, hitting eight 3-pointers on 12 attempts. Keston Roberts added 19 points and Jack Liles had 12 rebounds for Youngstown State (11-15, 6-8 Horizon League), which trailed 42-36 at the half.
Detroit (9-17, 5-9) led by as much as 10 points in the second period, but the Penguins scored nine straight points to take a 68-66 lead on a 3-pointer and foul shot from Humphrey with 4:46 remaining.
The Penguins widened their lead to eight before Jon Goode scored Detroit's last basket on a layup with 1:05 left to make it 76-70. Youngstown State hit two foul shots and two layups to seal the game.
The Penguins shot 50 percent (30-of-60), while the Titans shot 47 percent (29-of-62). Youngstown State outrebounded Detroit 40-30.
