PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) -- Kyle Koncz had 13 points and pulled down four rebounds as Princeton snapped a three-game losing streak with a 54-49 victory over Columbia on Saturday night.
Michael Strittmatter added 12 points, three rebounds and three assists for the Tigers (11-12, 2-7 Ivy League), which won for the 14th straight time at home against the Lions (13-11, 4-6). Marcus Schroeder added 10 points and four steals, while Kevin Steuerer chipped in 10 points and four assists.Columbia, which had won three of its last five, got 17 points and six rebounds from John Baumann and 16 points from Patrick Foley.With the score tied at 27-27 in the second half, Koncz scored four points to spur a 9-0 run as Princeton took command of the game. The Tigers later stretched their lead to 10 points, but Columbia fought back and cut the lead to 48-44, despite turning the ball over three straight times during one stretch.Princeton then hit four straight free throws to gain a 52-44 advantage with 35.5 seconds left. The Lions eventually cut the lead to 52-49 when Foley hit a 3-pointer with under eight seconds left, but Strittmatter then made a layup to seal the win.
