HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) -- Drew Shubik scored 19 points and three other Sacred Heart players scored in double figures as Sacred Heart defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 86-82 Tuesday night.
Brice Brooks added 18 points for the Pioneers,
Jarrid Frye 17 and
Ryan Litke 14 as the Pioneers improved to 14-13 (10-6 Northeast Conference).
FDU's
Cameron Tyler led all scorers with 24 points.
Andre Harris had 22,
Michael Peeples 20 and
Manny Ubilla 14 for the Knights (14-13, 9-7).
A layup by Harris gave the Knights 39-38 lead with four minutes left in the first half, but the Pioneers outscored FDU 9-4 to take a 47-43 halftime lead. Sacred Heart shot 64 percent for the half.
Sacred Heart surged to a 10-point lead in the second half, but FDU went on a 10-point run to knot the score at 71-71 with just under five minutes to play.
A pair of free throws by Shubik with 4:04 to play gave Sacred Heart the lead for good at 75-74, and the Pioneers converted six free throws in the last two minutes to seal the game.
