NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Valdas Vasylius scored 16 points and Arnand Dahi added 12 while grabbing 13 rebounds as Old Dominion beat Towson 79-65 Wednesday night.
The Monarchs (22-7, 14-3 Colonial Athletic Association) trailed for much of the first half but used a 14-3 run in the closing minutes of the half to overtake the Tigers and build a 38-33 halftime lead.
Towson (14-15, 8-9) kept it close for much of the second, drawing within four with 8:56 remaining. But Old Dominion used steady free throw shooting to put the game out of reach.
The Tigers gave up 18 turnovers to Old Dominion's nine. The Monarchs also had the advantage in shooting -- 41.9 percent to Towson's 34.9 percent.
