CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Wes Channels scored 22 points and Austin Peay held off a late rally for a 77-68 win over Eastern Kentucky Thursday night.
Austin Peay (19-9, 16-3 Ohio Valley Conference) scored the last eight points of the game after the Colonels (17-11, 12-7) closed to 69-68 on a 3-pointer by Mike Rose with 1:27 left.
Shipley ended with 16 points, Reed had 12 and Lockett 11. Channels was 9-of-13 from the floor and had a game-high eight rebounds.
Eastern Kentucky, losing its first OVC game after seven straight league wins, was led by Rose with 21 points and Adam Leonard with 17.
The Colonels led by as much as 10 in the first half and were ahead 40-35 at the half.
