NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) -- Tristan Blackwood scored a career-high 40 points as Central Connecticut rallied to beat Robert Morris 88-86 on Thursday.
The Blue Devils (18-11, 15-2 Northeast Conference) trailed by six with 4:58 to go, then began to chip away. By the time Blackwood hit a pair of free throws with 2:13 left, Central was up 78-77. Javier Mojica hit a key 3-pointer for Central with 37.7 left for an 86-84 lead the Blue Devils held for the win.
The Colonials (16-9, 8-8) shot 61 percent (19-for-31) in the first half and led 44-38 at the break.
Mojica finished with 24 points for the Blue Devils.
Jeremy Chappell led Robert Morris with 31 points.
