EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) -- David Teague scored 26 points, and Purdue survived a late charge from Northwestern on Saturday afternoon to post its second road win of the season with a 75-68 victory.

Tim Doyle led a 19-7 run that had the Wildcats within 73-68 with 36.7 seconds to play, scoring 18 of his career-high 26 points in the second half. But Purdue, which had missed the front end of two one-and-bonus situations earlier, made 2-of-4 from the line in the final moments to end a five-game losing streak to Northwestern.

Chris Lutz came off the bench for a season-high 15 points, and combined with Teague to make 8-of-17 from 3-point range. Carl Landry fouled out of the game with 13 points for Purdue (18-10 overall, 7-7 in the Big Ten.)

The win sets up the possibility that the on-the-NCAA-bubble Boilermakers could be playing for their 20th win when these same teams play next Saturday in West Lafayette, Ind.

Freshman Kevin Coble matched his career high with 24 points, scoring 13 of those in the first half for Northwestern (13-15, 2-12). Starting with the free throws that Coble made after Landry's technical foul for doing a pull-up on the rim after a fastbreak dunk, Northwestern went on a 17-4 run that trimmed Purdue's lead to 46-43 when Coble hit a 3-pointer with 14:21 to play.

Northwestern's bid to win consecutive games for the first time since December came apart when Purdue responded with a 23-6 spree to put its advantage at 66-49 when Lutz hit his third 3-pointer of the second half with 7:22 on the clock.

Teague scored eight of Purdue's first 12 points, and had 18 before intermission. In a 16-5 run that gave the Boilermakers a 25-15 lead, Purdue scored three points on five consecutive possessions with Teague hitting three 3-pointers, Lutz a fourth and Landry completing a three-point play.

Coble and Doyle combined for 21 of Northwestern's 28 points in the first half. Thanks to Coble's medium-range jumpers and Doyle's slinky moves around the basket, the Wildcats kept Purdue within reach at the half, trailing 38-28.
