    BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Orlando Mendez-Valdez scored 20 points to lead Western Kentucky in a 82-64 win Saturday over Florida International in the Hilltoppers final home game of the season.

    The Hilltoppers (21-10, 12-6 Sun Belt Conference) shot 60 percent from the field, including 70 percent (7-of-10) from 3-point range in the first half and shooting 52 percent overall.

    Mendez-Valdez made 6-of-7 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 from both the 3-point and free-throw line.

    Courtney Lee made all four of his 3-pointers in the first half for the Hilltoppers, finishing with 18 points on 6-of-19 shooting. Tyrone Brazelton capped the game with 15 points and eight assists for the Hilltoppers. Jeremy Evans tied a career high with 13 rebounds and made five points.

    Chris Fuller led made 21 points for the Golden Panthers (12-16, 7-11 Sun Belt).

    Florida International struggled offensively, shooting 37 percent from the field in the second half and 42 percent overall.

    The Hilltoppers stretched their lead to as much as 23 early in the second half. Florida International's only lead came at 18:30 in the first half at 2-0.
