ATHENS, Ohio (AP) -- Omni Smith's jumper with 4 seconds left gave Kent State a 73-71 victory over Ohio on Saturday.
Ohio's Bobcats (17-10, 8-5 Mid-American Conference) led by 11 points with 14 minutes remaining but the Golden Flashes (18-9, 10-3) tied the game at 71-71 on a Rodriguez Sherman free throw with 58 seconds left.
Ohio ran time off the clock until committing a turnover. The Golden Flashes worked the ball around before Smith hit the game-winner. It was Kent State's first lead since early in the opening half.
Leon Williams missed Ohio's final shot with 2 seconds left.
Smith led Kent State with 23 points, with Mike Scott scoring 14 points and adding 15 rebounds. Sherman had 10 points.
