NEW YORK (AP) -- Robert Hines scored 17 points and St. Francis, N.Y., beat Fairleigh Dickinson 72-69 Monday night to clinch the eighth and final spot in the Northeast Conference playoffs.
Allan Sheppard added 15 points,
Marcus Williams finished with 13 and Jamal Womack had 11 for the Terriers (9-21, 7-11), who trailed 43-34 at halftime. St. Francis has won three straight games.
Andre Harris had 21 points for the Knights (14-15, 9-9).
Harris opened the second half with a jumper to make it 45-34 but the Terriers then put together a 20-8 surge to go in front 54-53.
Womack's 3-pointer with 1:27 to play gave St. Francis the lead for good at 68-67. Williams and Womack each hit two free throws in the closing minute to help the Terriers hold on.
Cameron Tyler also had 14 points for the Knights.
