BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Julian Sullinger scored 20 points and Kent State shot 60 percent from the floor as the Golden Flashes beat Bowling Green 77-64 Thursday night.
The Golden Flashes (20-9, 12-3 Mid-American Conference) made 31 of 51 shots, outrebounded the Falcons (12-17, 2-13) 39-21, scored 54 points in the paint and scored 17 points off turnovers. With the win, Kent State kept pace with Akron in the MAC's Eastern Division.
With 16:57 to play in the first half, Bowling Green held an 8-7 lead. Sullinger's jumper five seconds later gave Kent State a lead it would never relinquish. The Golden Flashes took a 41-29 lead at the half and never led by fewer than seven points in the second half.
