RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Folarin Campbell had 16 points and George Mason held off a late second half comeback on Saturday night to beat Hofstra 64-61 in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament.

The Patriots (17-14) led 43-28 at the half, shooting 51.7 percent from the field to Hofstra's 29.6 percent in the first. Sixth-seeded George Mason, who made an improbable run to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament last season, will play second-seeded Old Dominion in the semifinals on Sunday.

The Pride (22-9) got to within 58-55 with 2:07 to play on a jumper by Loren Stokes, the conference player of the year. A free throw by Will Thomas and a tip-in by Louis Birdsong put George Mason up 61-55 with 44 seconds left.

Free throw shots kept from the Patriots ahead despite Hofstra getting back to within the final 64-61 with nine seconds remaining before Greg Johnson missed a buzzer-beating layup for the Pride.

Dre Smith added 12 points for the Patriots and Darryl Monroe had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Carlos Rivera led Hofstra with 21 points and seven rebounds, Stokes had 18 points and Antonio Agudio had 13.
