    YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Damon Huffman scored 24 points and Mark McAndrew had 22 to lead Brown to a 74-55 win over Eastern Michigan in the season opener for both teams on Friday afternoon.

    The Bears never trailed after the 7:02 mark of the first half and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second.

    They connected on 10 3-point field goals, all of which came from Huffman and McAndrew, who hit on all but four of their attempts.

    Wendale Farrow led Eastern Michigan with 15 points. Carlos Medlock added 12.

    Brown, which led 45-28 at halftime, used a 12-0 run to build a 30-24 lead.

    After leading for the first 13 minutes of the game, Eastern never recovered from Brown's scoring surge, hitting on only 35.3 percent of its field goal attempts for the game.
