PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) -- Zach Finley made his first 10 shots and finished with a career-high 22 points as Princeton held on for a 59-57 win over Central Connecticut State on Sunday.
Kyle Koncz added 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds for the Tigers (1-0), who won in the coaching debut of Sydney Johnson. Joe Seymore had 14 points -- including four 3-pointers- to lead the Blue Devils (0-1), while Tristan Blackwood added 12 and Marcus Palmer had 10 points and six rebounds.
Princeton appeared to be in command when Noah Savage's 3-pointer gave them a 57-50 lead with four minutes left to play, but the Blue Devils rallied and cut the lead to 59-57 on Seymore's putback with 43 seconds.
Central Connecticut got the ball back on a steal by David Simmons with 33 seconds left, but Blackwood missed a 3-point try. Tamir Johnson got the rebound for the Blue Devils, but Seymore missed a layup with five seconds left, and the game ended as the players scrambled for the loose ball.
