JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Ben Smith and Marcus Allen each scored 19 points as Jacksonville withstood a second half rally by Concordia to defeat the Clippers 78-71 Saturday.

Jacksonville stretched a 38-32 halftime lead into an 18-point margin at 66-48 as the Dolphins hit 9-of-13 shots in the first nine minutes of the second half. But Jacksonville (3-0) went cold after that, making just three baskets the rest of the game in 13 attempts.

Concordia shaved the lead to six points at 72-66 with 1:56 left in the game. Lehmon Colbert hit a jumper and Smith added a pair of free throws to give the Dolphins a ten point lead before Alban Shala's 3-pointer at the buzzer made it a 7-point final margin.

Smith continued his shooting from the field line, sinking 9-of-10 shots, all in the second half. Allen was 7-of-12 from the field.

Richard Fields led Concordia (0-2) with 21 points. He sparked a 16-4 late surge by the Clippers by scoring 10 of the 16 points when they narrowed Jacksonville's lead to six points.

Jacksonville struggled from 3-point range, connecting on just three of 21 attempts.
