STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Charles Rhodes and Ben Hansbrough combined for 35 points to lead Mississippi State to an 86-70 win over the University of Tennessee-Martin on Saturday.
The Bulldogs (2-1) finished a three-game homestand by shooting 55 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range.Hansbrough had a team-high 20 points, followed by Rhodes' 15. Jamont Gordon added 10 points and six assists and Riley Benock chipped in 10.Lester Hudson led the Skyhawks (2-3) with a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds and Marquis Weddle added 24 points. Gerald Robinson chipped in 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.Hudson, Rogers and Weddle combined for 61 of the team's 70 points.Mississippi State turned the ball over 25 times in the contest, but the Skyhawks were only able to convert the Bulldog miscues into 9 points.
