SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) -- Mark Tyndale scored 23 points, including 13 of 14 free throws, to lead Temple to a 73-69 overtime victory over Marist in the seventh-place game of the Puerto Rico Tip-off Classic on Sunday.

Dionte Christmas had 15 points for Temple (1-3) while Lavoy Allen had 14 and Ryan Brooks added 10. Louie McCroskey had 18 points for Marist (1-3) while Spongy Benjamin added 10.

Temple led 34-28 at the half, but the Red Foxes went on a 24-6 run to take a 54-46 lead with 8:54 remaining. Tyndale hit five of six free throws to help the Owls cut the lead to 56-53 and later hit four straight free throws to give Temple a 60-58 lead with 36 seconds left.

Ryan Stilphen tied it with a layup with 12 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. In the extra period, Brooks gave the Owls the lead for good with a 3-pointer and Christmas iced the win with two free throws.

The Owls hit 14 of 15 free throw attempts in the second half and were 21-for-23 for the game.
