CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) -- Four Southeast Missouri players scored in double figures Tuesday as the Redhawks hit 13 3-pointers to beat Evansville 87-77.
Roderick Pearson led Southeast Missouri (2-2) with 14 points, Calvin Williams had 13 points and 10 rebounds, Jimmy Drew scored 12 and Jaycen Herring added 10.Ely Shy led Evansville (0-3) with 23 points and nine rebounds. Jason Holsinger had 13 and Jay Couisnard added 12 for the Purple Aces.Southeast Missouri got a huge boost from its bench, which scored 44 points compared with 17 by Evansville's bench. The Redhawks also outrebounded Evansville 49-30.Southeast Missouri led by as many as 17 early in the second half and maintained a steady, double-digit lead throughout.
