ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- John Roberson scored 22 points as Texas Tech overwhelmed host Alaska-Anchorage 74-47 Thursday in the first round of the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout.

The Red Raiders (3-1) took control early, forcing four-turnovers in the first four minutes and bolting to a 14-2 lead.

Mike Singletary hit his first five shots, including a baseline drive that gave the Red Raiders the lead 24-8 with 11:53 remaining. Singletary and Roberson each shot 5-for-6 in the first half, helping push the lead to 42-18 just before halftime.

Host Alaska-Anchorage (2-1), ranked No. 16 in Division II, looked overmatched. Their 3-point shooters, including Chris Bryant, were ice cold. Bryant finished 2-for-11 from behind the arc and the Seawolves overall were 6-for-26.

The Seawolves closed to the deficit to 17, 47-30, on a basket by Carl Arts with 13:19 remaining but could get no closer.

Singletary finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Alan Voskuil had eight points and seven rebounds.

No Seawolves reached double figures. Arts finished with nine points and a career-high 16 rebounds for Alaska-Anchorage.
