ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Manny Harris scored 19 points and Ron Coleman added 14 as Michigan hung on to defeat Eastern Washington 61-53 on Friday in the consolation round of the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout.

The Wolverines (3-2) failed to score a field goal in the last four minutes but made nine free of their 10 free throw attempts in the final 1:43 to prevail.

Eastern Washington (1-5) was plagued by shooting problems in the first half. The Eagles got good looks at the basket from the perimeter in the early going but couldn't knock down 3-pointers, hitting just 1-for-8 in the first nine minutes.

Michigan's shooters, meanwhile, caught fire. Ekpe Udoh broke a 12-12 tie with a short jumper with 10:05 remaining, and Harris, Kelvin Grady, Jerret Smith and Coleman followed with 3-pointers. Udoh hit another jumper at the end of the 16-1 run and the Wolverines led 28-13.

Eastern Washington closed to 34-21 at the half behind six points by Brandon Moore off the bench.

Michigan's Zack Gibson pushed the lead to 36-21 to open the second half but the Eagles finally found their shooting touch, hitting their first five 3-point attempts.

A 16-7 run behind two 3-pointers each by Marcus Hinton and Milan Stanojevic closed the gap to 46-42 with 12:08 remaining.

A 3-pointer by Trey Gross closed the gap to one, 54-53, with 1:30 remaining, but the Eagles could not score again.

Smith hit a pair of free throws, Harris had four and Coleman one to close out the scoring.

Kellen Williams led Eastern Washington with 13 points and seven rebounds.
