Akron 71, Binghamton 51

AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Cedrick Middleton scored 15 points and Nick Dials added 14 to lead Akron to a 71-51 win over Binghamton in the Zips' home opener Saturday night.

Middleton and Dials each went 3-for-3 in 3-point attempts for Akron (3-1), which has won two straight.

Quade Milum added 10 points for the Zips.

Lazar Trifunovic scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds to lead Binghamton (1-4), which has a three-game losing streak.

Akron, which shot just 35 percent in the first half, came back to shoot 50 percent in the second half and held the Bearcats to 30 percent on the night.
