Lafayette led 37-27 at the half, but Central Connecticut opened the second half with a 10-3 run to cut the margin to 40-37 at 15:19 on a 3-pointer by Tristan Blackwood.
But the Leopards then outscored the Blue Devils 18-6 and took a 61-45 lead with just under five minutes remaining. Free throws by Michael Gruner and Abdullah gave Lafayette its largest lead, 65-48, with 2:31 remaining.
The Leopards led for the first 10 minutes of the game before Marcus Palmer's free throw gave the Blue Devils a 16-14 lead at 11:04. Central Connecticut took its last lead with 8:24 left in the half on Horton's layup.
