GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Ryne Hamblet scored 13 points, making all seven of his free throws, to lead Bowling Green to a 67-58 win over Furman on Tuesday night.
The Paladins (0-5) scored 10 straight points to cut the deficit to 47-36 with 10 minutes to go. They would get as close as eight in the final two minutes, including 64-55 after Stanley Jones' layup with 58 seconds to go.
But Hamblet hit two free throws and Knight had a dunk to seal the win.
Jones led Furman with 15 points, while Bobby Austin added six points and seven rebounds.
Bowling Green never trailed, jumping out to a 14-8 lead behind two 3-pointers by Joe Jakubowski. The Eagles then scored 10 straight for a 33-17 lead on Otis Polk's baby hook three minutes before halftime.
The Falcons shot 50.9 percent (28-of-55) from the field, while Furman shot 32.7 percent (17-of-52).
